Diagnoses

1.  Marília – Case
LB08/4051 – Woman, 75 y/o. Vaginal polyp.
Diagnosis: Tubulo – squamous polyp (McCluggage W., Young RH; Am J. Sug. Pathol. 2007; 31: 1013-19) (Ck7, Ck20, 34betaE12, hormonal receptors and PSA positive)

2. HCFM – RP USP, Ribeirão Preto – Case  
– Woman, 47 y/o. Tumor in the right ovary.
Diagnosis: Mature teratoma with carcinoid tumor, insular pattern (Inhibin, TTF-1 nagative; chromogranin positive).
P.S. The patient presented with carcinoid syndrome.

3. Hospital Santa Catarina – Vitória , ES – Case
B2035/08 – 
Woman, 24 y/o. A solid yellowish tumor in the right ovary detected during a cesarean operation.       
Diagnosis: Sclerosing stromal tumor (Vim, inhibin, calretinin positive; desmin negative). 
P.S. SST with pregnancy: Eur. J. Gynaecol. Oncol. 2004; 25:257-260.

4.  País Basco, Espanha (Dr. José I. López) - Case
B07/20910 – Man, 55 y/o. Renal tumor, measuring 4.5 cm in diameter.
Diagnosis: Tubulocystic renal cell carcinoma (Ck7, AMACR, parvalbumin, 34bE12 positive) (Am. J. Surg. Pathol. 2008; 32: 177-87).

5. PUC, Campinas – Case
– 
A 18 y/o, pregnant woman presented with a 14 x 9 cm in diameter, well circumscribed, brownish, tumor, adherent but with no infiltration to the renal pelvis.
Diagnosis: Solitary fibrous tumor (CD34, CD99, Bcl2, progesterone receptor positive; S-100, CD117, Desmin, Actin,  HMB-45, estrogen receptor negative).
(SFT associated with pregnancy: Virchows Archiv. 2000; 437: 445-9; J. Pathol. 2002; 198: 252-7). 

6. Salomão & Zoppi Lab. – Case
IH0107/709
 – Woman, 78 y/o. Polyps in the small intestine up to 1.4 cm in diameter.
Diagnosis: Microcystic/ reticular schwannoma (S-100, GFAP, CD34 positive; EMA focal; AE1-AE3, c-Kit, CDX-2, chromogranin negative). 
P.S. Case in consultation by Dr. Chris Fletcher - The possibility of a hybrid schwannoma/ perineurioma tumor was considered.

7. Hospital Aliança – Case 
AP 2050-08 
– Man, 78 y/o. Tumor in the left thigh.
Diagnosis: Myxofibrosarcoma, with an undifferentiated component (the tumor weighed 1910g and measured 45 cm in diameter).
(CD34, Vim, Calponin, CD68, Fascin positive; S-100, Actin, AE1-AE3 negative).

8. HBH - Belo Horizonte – Case 
B22926/05 
– A 15 y/o, girl presented with an oral tumor involving the tongue, gum and tonsil.
Diagnosis: Spindle cell rhabdomyosarcoma (recurrent).
(Myogenin positive).    

9.  Bauru – Case
 B08/1496
 – Man, 69 y/o. A 1.5 cm in diameter nodule in the subconjunctival     temporal region of the right eye.
Diagnosis: Subconjunctival herniated orbital fat.
(Smack et al. Ame J Surg Pathol, 2007; 31: 193-8).

10.  Botucatu – Case
A226 – 
A 53 y/o man presented with a 3 week-history of coughing and dyspnea. A chest Rx revealed a mediastinal mass and a CT revealed a mediastinal mass-plus lymphadenomegaly.
Diagnosis: Lymphocytic thymoma-B1 (CD45, CD3, AE1-AE3, TdT positive;     CD15 and 30, CD20, CD79a, negative). (Archiv Pathol Lab Med 132, 2008). 

11.  EPM – Case
B08/14464 – 
81y/o, man, presented with a malignant metastatic tumor.
 A right atrial mass attached to the tricuspid valve was detected and excised with the diagnosis of metastasis (patient with melanoma).
Diagnosis: Papillary fibroelastoma of the heart (Am Heart J. 2003; 146: 404-10; Review).

12.  LABPAC – Case
B08/14471 – 
Man, 28 y/o. Enlarged cervical lymph node.
Diagnosis: Syphilitic lymphadenitis (serology positive; PCR positive in the paraffin block) ( van Crevel et al. J Infect. 2008; July issue).
